A Signature Stratocaster Designed as a "Luthier" Instrument
The Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster (rosewood fingerboard) embodies the attention to detail typical of high-end signature models. With its 1957-style contours, vintage vibrato mounted according to very specific choices, and nitrocellulose finish, it positions itself as a tradition-oriented Stratocaster... with modern adjustments where they directly serve playability, notably through a flatter radius and very refined ergonomics.
For Whom, and in Which Styles?
This electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want a responsive, precise Stratocaster capable of revealing right-hand nuances. Perfect for blues, vintage rock, funk, pop, and "Texas/50s"-style tones, it also excels in lead playing thanks to the 12" / 305 mm radius and medium jumbo frets, very comfortable for bends and left-hand vibrato.
The Sound
The acoustic foundation is based on an alder body, balanced, with present mids and a clear attack, a historic Stratocaster signature. The quarter-sawn maple neck provides stability and a snappy response, while the rosewood fingerboard slightly rounds the attack for a silkier grain, ideal for blues and singing lead. On the electronics side, the SSS configuration (three Eric Johnson single-coil pickups) delivers detailed cleans, rich and "scooped" intermediate positions (positions 2 and 4), and a sharper bridge pickup for punchy rhythms. The wiring offers a master volume and two dedicated tone controls (neck and bridge) to effectively shape brightness. Finally, the vintage synchronized tremolo contributes to the "springy" character and Strat-typical sustain, with a very faithful approach to old-school feel.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
This guitar comes with a complete accessory pack (including a hard case, strap, and cable). The original strings are Fender USA 250R 010-046, and staying with this gauge is a safe choice to maintain tension balance and vibrato setup.
