A "Bluesbreaker" reinterpretation with the FX Teacher touch

The Blues Believer belongs to the large family of overdrives inspired by the Marshall Bluesbreaker: a circuit that has become legendary for its transparent British tone, dynamics, and ability to add soul without crushing the playing. FX Teacher does not aim for a tame copy: the idea is rather to start from this legendary foundation, inject deliberate voicing choices, and extend the gain range to achieve a pedal that is both familiar and surprisingly personal.
Obvious nod to the blues genre, but also to "Belief" (Continuum period): it embodies the philosophy of a drive that breathes, follows the right hand, and stays musical even when stacking gain stages. The result: a "versatile" pedal on paper, but with real character from the first notes.

For whom, which styles, and in what situations?

The FX Teacher Blues Believer is aimed both at guitarists looking for an "always-on" base to thicken their clean tone and musicians wanting an overdrive capable of covering a full set. In blues, blues-rock, vintage rock, edgy pop, or funky grooves, it excels whenever you want a drive that preserves chord definition and dynamic nuance.
In the studio, it helps to fit a guitar into the mix without over-compressing it. Live, its generous output level helps cut through the band for solos or push an already pushed amp. On a pedalboard, it stacks very well with other saturations (mid-boosts, fuzz, distortions): upstream to boost, or downstream to thicken and "finish" the tone.

Controls, modes, and hidden settings: simple outside, formidable inside

On the front panel, the interface is immediate: Out controls output volume, Tone adjusts brightness (with a wide range, ideal for recovering that British attack), and Gain controls the main drive level. Two mini-switches complete the setup: Voice offers two frequency balances (wider and more open, or tighter to tame excess highs and refocus the mids), while Disto engages a third gain stage to shift from an organic overdrive to a more assertive saturation.
Inside, FX Teacher goes further: two trimpots allow separate adjustment of maximum gain for overdrive and distortion modes. You can keep a very open OD and reserve the extra saturation for Disto mode, or conversely increase the overall gain reserve depending on your amp. The cherry on the circuit: an internal Silicon / LED switch to choose between a more vintage, tight clipping (Silicon) or a more open, "amp-like" response with rich harmonics (LED).

The sound

The Blues Believer stands out with a precise attack, lively dynamics, and that "amp opening up" feel when you roll up the guitar volume. As a clean boost, it adds presence, definition, and a slight grit that highlights your playing without radically changing your sonic identity. In light crunch, it delivers an ideal drive for double-stops, John Mayer-style licks, or blues-rock rhythms that need to stay articulate.
When Disto is activated, the shift is clear: more sustain, more density, without turning into mush. The Voice switch then becomes strategic: in the brighter position, the pedal can be sharp and very "forward," perfect for cutting through a busy mix; in the other voicing, the top end softens, the tone becomes rounder and more controlled, especially pleasant with already edgy single-coil pickups.
Finally, with the internal Silicon / LED choice and the trimpots, you can truly tailor the pedal to your rig: tighten for a biting boost, or open and soften for a "chewy," smoother overdrive that responds to the slightest touch variation.
