A Unique Instrument in the World of Analog Synthesizers
The MOTOR Synth MKII stands out from classic analog synths by replacing traditional oscillators with a tuned electromotor system. This unique design generates a lively sonic material full of micro-variations, ideal for creating mechanical textures, massive drones, or abrasive basses. Within the Gamechanger Audio range, it establishes itself as a high-end experimental synthesizer, designed for those seeking an instantly recognizable sound.
Who It's For and the Styles Where the MOTOR Synth MKII Excels
This synthesizer is mainly aimed at experienced musicians and sound designers looking for an inspiring instrument capable of breaking new ground. Perfect for industrial techno, electro, dark ambient, experimentation, film music, and sound effects, it also finds its place in the studio for original sound layers. In live settings, its modulation section and arpeggiator and sequencing functions make it an excellent performance engine, especially when controlled via MIDI or CV/Gate.

Questions frequently asked
What kind of sound does the MOTOR Synth MKII produce?
Its electromechanical engine uses tuned motors and four waveform shapes per oscillator, including an M shape derived from amplified electromagnetic fluctuations.
Is the synthesizer polyphonic?
The specified configuration achieves 4-note polyphony, with 3 voices per note. The two MOTOR voices can operate in mono, unison, or polyphony, along with an additional digital DCO voice.
Can it be controlled via MIDI and CV/Gate?
MIDI support includes notes, CC, Program Change, transport, Channel Pressure, NRPN, and parameter SysEx dumps. CV/Gate control is also provided. An arpeggiator, a monophonic sequencer, and motion recording complete the playing capabilities.
What filters are integrated?
Each MOTOR voice features an analog multimode VCF: 24 dB low-pass, 12 dB band-pass, 12 dB high-pass, and 12 dB all-pass. The DCO voice has a digital filter covering these four modes.
What audio connectivity is available?
The main output is a 6.35 mm asymmetrical TRS jack, configurable in mono or stereo, with a maximum level of +13 dBu. A 6.35 mm TS input, a headphone output, and send/return loops dedicated to voices V1 and V2 are also included.
