The SAM complement to Genelec 8320A and 8330A monitors

The Genelec 7350A is an active subwoofer designed to complement the 8320A and 8330A smart monitors. It is part of the SAM ecosystem, with an approach focused on the consistency of the monitoring system: the subwoofer and speakers do not work separately, but as elements of the same monitoring setup.

Its place in the range meets a specific need: extending the response downwards without requiring a subwoofer with large dimensions. Its 410 mm-high cabinet houses a 205 mm loudspeaker and dedicated amplification. The aim is to deliver well-defined bass with low distortion, while retaining an installation suited to compact production spaces.

Mixing the low end with greater confidence

This studio monitoring subwoofer is aimed at producers, sound engineers and creators who want to better hear what is happening below the range covered by their main monitors. The balance between kick drum and bass, the sub-bass content of a synthesizer or the energy of effects: the 7350A provides a more complete view of this information.

It is equally suitable for stereo listening and multichannel configurations. Its bass management allows low frequencies to be distributed between the subwoofer and the speakers, while its dedicated LFE input meets the needs of systems using this channel. This arrangement helps you make more reliable mixing decisions, without simply trying to add more bass.

Bass management designed for consistent monitoring

GLM: adapting the system to the room

The 7350A works with the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager, or GLM software. It allows you to configure the system for stereo or multichannel use, then analyse the room acoustics in order to adjust the frequency response, level and phase at the crossover point.

These settings are essential to prevent a correctly selected subwoofer and monitors from producing unbalanced monitoring once installed. By working on their integration, GLM contributes to a more consistent response and to mixes that retain their balance more effectively on other monitoring systems.

Less low-frequency strain on the main monitors

The bass management system and active filters in the 7350A ensure that frequencies are distributed within the monitoring system. By handling the lower register, the subwoofer frees the main monitors from some of the most demanding work. They can therefore devote their energy to the rest of the spectrum, with greater headroom for the system as a whole.

Dedicated amplification and versatile connectivity

The 205 mm magnetically shielded cone loudspeaker is powered by a 150 W Class D amplifier. The bass-reflex design contributes to low-frequency extension. The response extends from 25 to 150 Hz with a tolerance of plus or minus 3 dB, and reaches 22 to 160 Hz at the -6 dB cutoff points.

The connectivity comprises five balanced analog inputs, one LFE input and five analog outputs, complemented by one digital input and one digital output on XLR. Two RJ45-format GLM network sockets provide computer control. This gives you the connections required to integrate the subwoofer into a variety of studio architectures.
