A Subwoofer Designed to Complement Genelec Nearfield Monitors
Designed as the natural partner for a nearfield monitoring system, the 7050C integrates particularly well with compact speakers such as the 8010, 8020, and 8030. This "C" version modernizes Genelec's approach with concrete improvements over previous generations (A and B), delivering cleaner bass, smoother integration with satellites, and more reliable studio operation regardless of power conditions.
Who Is It For and What Studio Applications?
The Genelec 7050C targets demanding home studios, post-production studios, mobile control rooms, and any setup where controlling sub-bass without artificially boosting the low end is desired. It is ideal for mixing and editing (music, podcast, sound design), as well as for multichannel environments where channel coherence and LFE management are essential. Its size and connectivity facilitate clean integration into a compact setup while maintaining sufficient headroom for nearfield monitoring.
Bass Management, Multichannel Connectivity, and Precise Control
Integrated Bass Management for Clean Integration
With its 5 line inputs and 5 line outputs featuring 85 Hz filtering, the 7050C centralizes bass management and simplifies wiring: connected speakers receive a filtered signal, while the subwoofer handles the low-frequency spectrum. A separate LFE input (up to 120 Hz) meets the needs of cinema and multichannel mixes.
Rear Controls and ISS Mode
The rear panel DIP switches allow adjustment of phase, low-frequency attenuation, activation of LFE +10 dB, and sensitivity of the ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) energy-saving mode. For immediate control, a pedal connection (6.3 mm jack) activates the Bypass function, convenient for instantly comparing the sound with or without the subwoofer.
