At the end of the 1950s, Gibson evolved the Les Paul Junior and Special models by adding a double cutaway. In 1960, the Special gained a slimmer neck and optimized pickup placement, becoming one of the liveliest solid-body guitars in the lineup. This "1960" Custom Shop reissue respects the aesthetic and structural choices of the era to recapture the spirit and responsiveness of the coveted originals.
