A Les Paul Studio Redesigned for Today's Demands
The Les Paul Studio Session captures the spirit of the classic Les Paul Studio while adding improvements directly inspired by musician feedback. The goal is clear: to preserve the Les Paul DNA (sustain, warmth, attack) while offering more modern playability, a higher level of finish, and more creative electronics-all in a guitar designed for both stage and recording.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This Gibson is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a versatile Les Paul capable of covering multiple genres without changing instruments. The PAF-style pickups and push/pull options make it comfortable in rock, blues, hard rock, pop, and even more funk or indie contexts when exploiting coil splits and phase variations.
The Sound
The combination of mahogany (body and neck) and AA figured maple (top) offers a typically Les Paul balance: rich mids, generous sustain, and a more precise attack thanks to the maple. The '57 Classic (neck) and '57 Classic + (bridge) humbuckers deliver warm vintage tones, with the bridge pickup being a bit more aggressive for riffs and solos. The push/pull controls multiply the textures: split (clearer, snappier sound), phase (more hollow and biting colors), and Pure Bypass (more direct signal path for a more upfront tone).
