In the studio, its two channels and signal management (including a parallel output to keep a clean signal) facilitate recording: you can keep a solid clean tone and add character without losing low-end clarity.

Controls, routing, and key features

The Dual Pre is built around a very usable EQ on each channel: Low, Mid Low, Mid High, and High, plus frequency selections (2 frequencies for low mids and 2 frequencies for high mids). This architecture helps you dial in settings quickly: you can scoop out space for the kick drum or boost mids to highlight fingerstyle, pick, or slap playing.

Two filters complete the shaping: a Deep filter to add body and a sense of depth, and a Bright filter to open the upper spectrum and emphasize attack. Channel 2 features a 2-mode overdrive : handy for switching from a slight "always-on" grit to a more pronounced saturation without rearranging your effects chain.

For practice and monitoring, there is an auxiliary input (media player) and a headphone output with headphone volume and dedicated EQ : ideal for silent rehearsals, working on rhythmic precision, or preparing settings before soundcheck. The inclusion of a chromatic tuner and a send/return loop allows easy integration of your effects (modulations, delays, reverb, etc.) into a coherent setup without losing level control.

The sound

The mids are easily sculpted thanks to the two Mid Low and Mid High zones: you can choose a very round and discreet bass or a tone that cuts through the mix with a sharp attack.

The compressor contributes to a controlled playing feel: you can smooth for a studio finish or keep a more dynamic response by adjusting threshold and release (with its two modes) according to your technique and instrument. The channel 2 overdrive adds character without diluting the foundation: it works both to thicken a clean sound and to provide a more aggressive grit, particularly useful when the bass needs to remain present in a wall of guitars.
