Within the Grace Design family, the MOXi is deliberately positioned between the FELiX (the very comprehensive "all-in-one" model) and the BiX (more streamlined). The idea is simple: to deliver the studio-quality audio and musicality that have made the brand renowned, while focusing on essentials for the stage. The result: two high-end channels, smart routing (MIX or A/B), and ergonomics designed for musicians who need to manage quickly, efficiently, and without unwanted noise.

Who It's For and What It's For: Demanding Acoustic, Stage and Studio Use

The Grace Design MOXi is aimed at acoustic guitarists, folk, bluegrass, jazz players, as well as instrumentalists (mandolin, violin, double bass, banjo) who want a faithful sound and an impeccable DI at front of house. Live, it becomes the heart of the "acoustic" pedalboard: you can switch between instruments via A/B, or blend two sources to gain presence and naturalness.
In the studio, the MOXi also excels as a clean and precise preamp/DI: it respects dynamics, handles attacks well, and maintains excellent clarity, ideal for detailed takes without excessive coloration.

Controls, Modes and Connectivity: Everything You Need, Where You Need It

Each channel features its own gain and a 3-band equalizer: bass and treble shelving, plus a "sweep" mid (adjustable frequency) to precisely target the area to tame (body resonance, piezo harshness) or enhance (presence, articulation). A 75 Hz high-pass filter helps clean up the low end (handling noise, rumble, proximity) before feeding the DI or amp.
The rear routing allows selection between MIX (blend of both channels) and A/B (one channel at a time). The Mute/Tune footswitch mutes all outputs except the effects send, handy for silent tuning by placing a tuner in the loop. The Boost footswitch offers up to +10 dB with fine adjustment, and a rear switch allows disabling boost on channel 1 depending on your setup.

Sound Character

The MOXi aims for an open, detailed, and very quiet sound, typical of Grace Design circuits: you gain definition, headroom, and bass control without the "boxy" effect sometimes found in simpler solutions. The EQ is musical: you can correct an aggressive resonance by sweeping the midrange, brighten the highs without harshness, and tighten the lows without muddiness.
Although the MOXi is a recent model, its sonic DNA clearly comes from Grace Design preamps used on stage by demanding musicians: in the FELiX range, for example, users include John Patitucci and Jorma Kaukonen, proof that the brand has become a reference for transmitting acoustic instruments with precision and musicality.
