A Streamliner That Recaptures Gretsch DNA in Center Block Version
The G2622T Streamliner follows the tradition of double cutaway Gretsch guitars, designed to combine iconic looks, comfort, and stage efficiency. Its Center Block format (semi-hollow with a central block) aims for a very current balance: the open character of a hollow body, but with more stability at high volume and enhanced sustain. The addition of the Bigsby completes the aesthetic and musical signature, ideal for nuanced playing and breathing chords.
For Whom and Which Styles
This Gretsch is particularly aimed at advanced beginner to intermediate guitarists who want a versatile semi-hollow, but also at stage musicians seeking an expressive and reliable guitar against feedback. It excels in rock, indie, blues, pop, rockabilly and ventures comfortably into softer registers (clean, light crunch) thanks to the coil splitting.
The Sound
The laminated maple body with arched top and back delivers precise attack and great definition, while the center block thickens the low-mids, improves note sustain, and limits feedback at high volume. The two Broad'Tron BT-3S pickups provide a full, musical tone: pronounced mids to cut through a mix, tight lows for riffs, and smooth highs to maintain clarity without harshness. The control section (independent volumes, master tone, master volume) allows real dynamic work, and the push/pull coil split adds more airy and snappy sounds, perfect for rhythm and arpeggios.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To keep the original gauge and preserve the factory feel, a set of nickel strings .010-.046 is a safe choice. A strap is compatible thanks to standard strap buttons, and a clip-on tuner is perfect for quick tuning adjustments at home or rehearsal.
