The Return of an Iconic Silhouette
Born in the 1970s, the Iceman made its mark on Ibanez history with its distinctive design. The ICB720FM brings this DNA back to a modern bass, with lightweight construction and contemporary electronics to meet the demands of today’s stages.Who is it for and which styles?
Designed for intermediate to advanced bassists, the ICB720FM excels in rock, hard rock/metal, indie and pop, where attack needs to cut through the mix. Its ergonomics and stable neck encourage precise fingerstyle and pick playing, both in the studio and on stage. The Sound
The Nordstrand Big Break pickups deliver a massive, punchy and articulate tone: a soapbar-format split-coil with a wide, noise-free response. The Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band preamp effectively shapes the lows and highs, ranging from modern punch to more vintage textures. The okoume body provides attack and pronounced mids, while the flamed maple top adds brightness and definition. Sustain is enhanced by the MR5S bridge, while the response remains consistent across the entire Panga Panga key.Recommended Compatible Accessories
- 4-string long-scale set of strings D'Addario EXL165 (.045-.105), perfectly suited to the 34" scale length.
- Wide, comfortable strap (the Schaller S-Locks are included and should be installed on the strap to secure the instrument).
- Universal clip-on tuner and key care kit (regular maintenance suitable for exotic woods).
