The Sound

Ash provides a quick response, a nice presence in the highs, and a clear low end with rich sustain. The Nordstrand "Big Single" pickups combine a crisp attack and a muscular character typical of single coils, but in a soapbar format: the result is a sound that is both full-bodied, clear, and very responsive to right-hand playing. The Sonitech preamp allows precise tonal balance adjustment via the 3-band EQ, while the Hexa Mid system opens up a real playground for placing the bass in the mix (slap, pick playing, fingerstyle lines). The push/pull EQ bypass facilitates instant switching between a more direct approach and a sculpted sound.
