Jodyjazz Super Jet 7 - Alto

The SUPER JET Series: Jody Jazz's Performance-Oriented DNA

Founded by Jody Espina, the Jody Jazz brand has established itself with high-end mouthpieces developed to meet the demands of discerning saxophonists. Individually handcrafted in Savannah (USA), they rely on advanced manufacturing processes and rigorous quality control. Within the lineup, the SUPER JET positions itself as a mouthpiece focused on power and impact, while maintaining a free-blowing feel and a sound deep enough to remain versatile.

For Which Saxophonist and Styles?

This alto saxophone mouthpiece is particularly suited for intermediate to professional players seeking maximum energy and presence in the mix. It excels in Smooth Jazz, Rock, and Funk, especially when you need to "cut through" drums, electric guitars, or keyboards. If you appreciate crisp attacks, projection, and easier access to altissimo, the SUPER JET is clearly geared toward stage and performance.

Sound and Design

The SUPER JET stands out with a design that prioritizes projection and instant response. Power and projection come from the ceiling design, while the choice of silver-plated brass delivers clear brightness, precise attack, and a very "present" sound. The mouthpiece features a handmade ceiling, along with a thin tip rail and side rails that promote homogeneity, pitch accuracy, and ease of articulation. The shorter facing curve contributes to an immediate responsive feel and helps facilitate altissimo notes more easily.

Note: due to this shorter facing curve, a softer reed than your usual strength may be appropriate, as the vibrating part of the reed is shorter. This does not limit playing and can actually increase comfort and ease, especially in the upper register.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

The mouthpiece is delivered with a ligature and a mouthpiece cap : you have the essentials to play immediately while protecting the mouthpiece during transport. A pouch is also included for easy storage.
