The DN32-DANTE is an expansion card designed to natively integrate audio streaming over a Dante network into compatible consoles from the M32 and X32 series. It installs in place of the standard DN32-USB card, transforming your console from a "USB audio interface" usage to a more flexible network architecture, designed for live sound, installation, and multitrack recording.

This approach allows centralizing audio (inputs/outputs) and routing it wherever needed, while maintaining your usual workflow and the console's patching logic.

The DN32-DANTE is aimed at sound engineers, live contractors, stage managers, and studios who want to expand the capabilities of their console by leveraging a Dante network. It is especially relevant if you need to manage multi-point scenes (front of house, monitors, broadcast), perform clean and stable multitrack recording, or simply share audio between multiple devices on the same network.

In practice, you can play back and record up to 32 channels from a PC or Mac via DVS, while facilitating integration into an existing network infrastructure, with a distribution logic more flexible than point-to-point cabling.

Dante Network at 48 kHz, Redundancy, and PTP Clocking: What the DN32-DANTE Changes

32x32 Audio via Dante Virtual Soundcard (DVS)

The DN32-DANTE enables playback and recording of 32 input and 32 output channels in Dante format, operating at a 48 kHz sample rate. For computer connection, it relies on Dante Virtual Soundcard (DVS), using ASIO on PC or AU on Mac, allowing you to use your console as a network audio gateway for multitrack recording, DAW monitoring, or virtual soundcheck.

Dual RJ45 Network Ports: Service Continuity and Shared Network

With its two RJ45 ports, Primary and Secondary, the card can maintain a network link up to 100 m and offer automatic redundancy (continuity in case of a link failure), or enable a more flexible organization of audio distribution on the network depending on your setup.

Dante Master or Slave Clocking (PTP)

Synchronization can be managed in Dante Master mode (primary clock) using the PTP (Precision Time Protocol) format, or in Slave mode. This flexibility facilitates integration into systems where the clock must be imposed by a master device or, conversely, followed to remain consistent with the rest of the network.

Routing and Control via Dante Controller

Routing and control of the card are programmed via the Audinate Dante Controller software on Mac or PC. This gives you a clear overview of subscriptions, streams, and channel organization between your various Dante machines and devices.

Front Panel Indicators for Network Diagnostics

Front panel LEDs allow you to monitor the card's status and the connection speed to the Dante network, a simple but valuable feature for quickly validating a link, diagnosing a configuration, or securing an installation before a show.
