Keyboard Design

The Korg I3 is built around a standard-sized 61-key keyboard with velocity sensitivity, ideal for alternating left-hand accompaniment, right-hand melody, and layered texture playing. To match your touch, you have 4 response curves (Soft, Medium, Hard, Fixed): useful for switching from delicate piano playing to a more aggressive pop/rock attack. The Octave Shift (+/-2) controls extend the range with a single gesture, while the joystick manages pitch, modulation, and brightness for natural expressiveness. A 2-band global equalizer (bass/treble) allows immediate sound balance adjustment depending on the room, amplification, or headphones.

Sound Quality

The Korg I3's stereo PCM generator delivers a versatile sound base with 790 sounds (including a full GM2 set) and 59 drum kits, all with a 64-voice polyphony to maintain solid chord and layering integrity. The 200 "Sound Sets" facilitate access to ready-to-play configurations, with up to 4 keyboard parts (layer/split) to stack a piano and strings, separate a bass on the left, or build more modern combinations. A dedicated "Grand Piano" button instantly recalls the main piano sound, ideal when you need to return to a reliable tone between songs.
