From Vintage Reverb to Modern Large Hall: The SECRETPATH Spirit in the Black Country Customs Range
The SECRETPATH is part of the Black Country Customs series, designed to offer premium effects focused on "musician's tone": immediately usable textures, simple handling, and reliability built for the stage. Its DNA is clear: to recapture the character of classic amplifier spring reverbs and the density of studio plates, while adding a third, more cinematic path with " The Secret Path," a deep and hypnotic large hall.
This "tradition + modernity" approach is also reflected in the details: a tricolor LED indicator depending on the mode, consistent behavior with a passive volume pedal, and an Enhanced mode that broadens the palette toward more textured territories (modulation or shimmer depending on the selected mode).
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
The SECRETPATH is aimed at guitarists who want a versatile reverb pedal without navigating multiple menus: you set it, play, and quickly find "the right space." It suits both intermediate players and demanding musicians looking for a characterful reverb to complete a pedalboard.
In blues and rock, the Spring mode delivers that typical bounce that brings life to attacks. In pop and indie, the Plate adds width and a smoother tail, perfect for arpeggios and clean rhythms. For ambient, post-rock, or shoegaze, "The Secret Path" and its Enhanced shimmer open the door to pads, floating phrase endings, and expressive swells with pick or fingers.

Questions frequently asked
What reverb sounds does the Laney BCC Secretpath offer?
The three available modes are Spring, Plate, and The Secret Path. Spring is aimed at the bounce of classic amp reverbs, Plate provides a smoother decay, while The Secret Path creates a large dark hall.
What power supply is required for the Secretpath pedal?
The required power supply is 9 V DC with a negative center, via a 2.1 x 10 mm connector, with a consumption of 90 mA; the adapter is not included.
Can the Secretpath be used in stereo?
Thanks to its 6.35 mm L/R jack outputs, this pedal allows stereo connection. The instrument input is a 6.35 mm mono jack with an impedance of 1 Megaohm. The recommended minimum load impedance is 10 kiloohms.
Can the reverb mix be controlled with an expression pedal?
A passive expression pedal can control the wet/dry mix in standard mode. In Enhanced mode, it adjusts the modulation/reverb balance on Spring and Plate, or shimmer/reverb on The Secret Path.
How does the Enhanced mode of the Laney Secretpath work?
The Enhanced mode is activated by a long press on the footswitch. It adds modulation to the Spring and Plate modes, or a shimmer effect to The Secret Path mode, with intensity adjustable via the Edit knob.
