A Classic from the 1960s Revisited in Stereo for Today's Studios

The SILVERR 47 follows in the lineage of tube preamps that shaped an immediately recognizable sonic aesthetic: a solid low-midrange, a presence that naturally "pushes forward" in the mix, and the subtle compression typical of tube and transformer stages when driven. LANG ELECTRONICS Inc. and Heritage Audio deliver here a faithful adaptation of this historic design, transforming it into a standalone dual-channel tube mic preamp, ready to integrate into a modern production environment more than 60 years after the original circuit's creation.
Where the vintage concept was used throughout the recording chain (mic input, line amplification, gain and output stages), the SILVERR 47 embraces this "Swiss Army knife" philosophy: a characterful sound, yet flexible enough to go from textured clean to a more pronounced color depending on gain level and output setting.

Who It's For and What It's For: From High-End Tracking to Creative Saturation

The LANG ELECTRONICS Inc. SILVERR 47 is aimed at studios and home studios seeking a tube mic preamp capable of enhancing a take right from recording, without relying on heavy post-production processing. On vocals, it adds density and body while maintaining a sense of attack. On drums (overheads, room, snare), it enhances the energy and "punch" feel. On electric guitars and basses, it becomes an excellent gateway to vintage grain, with fine control between clarity and saturation.
Another playground: the front-panel D.I. input. It allows direct circuit drive with a guitar, bass, synth, or drum machine, delivering textures ranging from harmonic crunch to more radical distortion when gain is pushed. This is a particularly interesting choice if you're looking for sounds that "stick" to the track right from the take, especially in rock, pop, hip hop, metal, or electronic music.

Simple Design, Yet Exceptionally Musical

Two Channels, a True Palette of Colors

The SILVERR 47 relies on a straightforward approach: stepped gain and variable output level. This combination is ideal for working "old school": you choose the amount of drive (and thus color) with the gain, then adjust the final level with the output to feed your converter, console, or processing chain without crushing everything. The result: tangible control over harmonic saturation and dynamics, from subtle thickening to a more pronounced character.

"NO FEEDBACK" Position: A New Feature Designed for the Modern Studio

While historical designs often remain limited to their original behavior, Heritage Audio adds a "NO FEEDBACK" gain position. The idea is clear: drastically increase harmonic distortion to achieve textures previously difficult to reach with this type of circuit. In practice, this transforms the SILVERR 47 into a full-fledged shaping tool: ideal for adding bite to a track, dirtying up an instrument, making a vocal more "present," or creating an immediately recognizable sonic signature, all while staying within an analog and musical universe.

Tubes and Transformers: The Heart of the Grain

Each channel houses a carefully selected pair of tubes: a NOS 6AU6 (pentode) for the input stage and a JJ E88CC for the output stage. Added to this are LANG ELECTRONICS Inc. custom input and output transformers designed by Heritage Audio. It is precisely this combination (tubes + transformers) that gives the preamp its sense of depth, firmness in the low end, and unique way of handling transients when gain is pushed.
