Helix Rack: The Helix DNA in a Rack Format for Modern Rigs
Designed to meet the demands of touring musicians, the Helix Rack brings the Helix ecosystem into a 19-inch chassis tailored for stage racks and studios. Its HX modeling engine does not merely "copy" an amp EQ: it aims for realistic behavior, with dynamic response close to playing a tube amp, and credible interaction between stages (gain, saturation, natural compression, attack).
Within the lineup, the Helix Rack positions itself as the control center of a complete system: it can replace an entire pedalboard, become the brain of a hybrid rig (external pedals, preamps, power amps, switching), or integrate into a fully digital setup with dedicated digital outputs and connections.
Who It's For and Contexts Where the Helix Rack Excels
The Helix Rack is aimed at guitarists and bassists who want consistent, repeatable, and quickly recallable tones, whether live, in the studio, or in residency. If you play multiple styles within the same set (blues, pop, rock, modern metal, prog, worship, ambient), its snapshots, parallel routings, and control possibilities allow you to switch from a crystalline clean to a massive lead without cutting your sustain or losing your flow.
In rack format, it is especially comfortable in "pro" configurations: MIDI control of an amp, sending a processed signal to the front of house, a separate signal to a power amp, and a dedicated return for your in-ear monitors. To get the best out of the amp and speaker simulations, use with an FRFR system (Full Range Flat Response) is highly recommended.

Questions frequently asked
Can the Line 6 Helix Rack replace a rack-mounted pedalboard?
The 19-inch rack format includes 45 amp models, 30 cabinets, and 70 effects. Four 6.35 mm jack effects loops allow pedals or external devices to be inserted into the signal chain.
Can impulse responses be used with the Helix Rack?
By importing third-party IRs, it is possible to load impulse responses of 1024 or 2048 samples. The internal simulations already include 30 cabinets and 16 microphones. The choice between modeled cabinets and IRs can thus be adapted per preset.
What audio connections does this rack processor provide?
The main outputs are available in stereo on XLR and 6.35 mm jack, totaling 10 inputs and 12 outputs.
Is the Helix Rack suitable for FRFR systems and in-ear monitors?
For amp and speaker simulations, FRFR speaker setups are recommended. The routings allow sending separate signals to the front of house, power amp, and in-ear monitors.
How can the Helix Rack be controlled by foot?
A dedicated controller can be paired with the rack and offers 12 capacitive touch switches with customizable labels. Snapshots, expression pedals, external switches, and MIDI can be assigned to control parameters.
