A More Compact Helix Approach Designed for the Road
The HX Stomp XL fits into the Helix ecosystem by using the same family of models and routing philosophy, but in a format easier to integrate on a pedalboard. The idea is simple: retain the quality and depth of Helix editing while adding more generous foot control for live and rehearsals, with 8 assignable switches.
Who It's For and In Which Contexts the HX Stomp XL Makes a Difference
This multi-effects unit is aimed at both guitarists and bassists who want to travel light without sacrificing precision: cover bands, sessions, touring, home studios, or as a reliable "plan B" in a flight case. It excels live through a PA or with an FRFR cabinet (flat response), but also integrates well in front of an amp, in an effects loop, or using the 4-cable method depending on your playing style. Musicians comfortable with editing will appreciate the depth, while pragmatists will benefit from ready-to-play presets.

Questions frequently asked
How many effect blocks can be used simultaneously?
Up to 8 blocks can be used simultaneously, with split or parallel signal paths to manage routing.
Can the HX Stomp XL replace a live guitar rig for PA?
HX modeling, speaker simulations, and IR support allow direct use on a PA system or with an FRFR cabinet. The 300 speaker simulations enable refining cabinet tone. The SHARC DSP processor handles effect and amp chain processing.
What audio connectivity is available?
Connectivity includes 2 inputs and 2 outputs on 6.35 mm jacks. There is a stereo effects loop with send on 6.35 mm TRS jack and stereo returns.
Is it possible to control an amp or MIDI pedals with this pedalboard?
The Command Center and MIDI can send commands to external pedals or change amp channels. The 8 capacitive footswitches can be assigned to effects, snapshots, bank changes, or tap tempo/tuner.
What power supply is required for this multi-effects unit?
A 9 V DC power supply is required for operation.
