A Manley Reference That Has Become Essential in Studios
Designed to go beyond a simple "vocal processor," the VOXBOX has established itself as a reference channel strip. It carries the brand's warm sonic aesthetic while offering a robust and timeless architecture. Its tube design and proprietary transformers provide harmonic density that enhances both vocals and instruments.
Who Is It For, and What Are Its Uses?
Sound engineers, producers, and musicians find an all-in-one ready for tracking: lead vocals and voice-over, bass DI, guitars, synths, and percussion. The controls remain quick and intuitive, ideal for demanding home studios as well as professional studios seeking a musical, reliable, and coherent tracking chain.
Key Features for a Smooth Workflow
The VOXBOX combines two main sections (preamp/DI and equalizer) and two separate dynamics processors (compressor then de-esser/limiter). You can use them together or independently, and even chain two units in stereo thanks to dedicated coupling switches. The gently curved EQ facilitates musical shaping, while the de-esser trigger listen circuit allows isolating the problematic area for ultra-precise adjustment. The large backlit Sifam VU meter offers five display modes to monitor levels and gain reduction at a glance.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Manley Voxbox suitable for live vocal and bass recording?
The microphone input features a 2 kOhm impedance and provides a high-current 48 V phantom power supply. A direct instrument input of 100 kOhms also allows connecting a bass or guitar without the need for an external DI box.
What compression settings does this channel strip offer?
The compressor operates with a fixed ratio of 3:1 and up to 16 dB of gain reduction. Its attack time is adjustable from 4 to 70 ms, with five release times ranging from 0.3 to 5 seconds.
How is the de-esser adjusted for vocals?
The limiter-de-esser offers four frequency notches: 3, 6, 9, and 12 kHz. With a ratio of 10:1, a 2 ms attack, and a maximum reduction of 32 dB, it effectively targets sibilance.
What connections are available on the Voxbox?
Line inputs and insert returns are available in balanced XLR and 6.35 mm jack. Preamp and EQ outputs have a low impedance of 50 Ohms.
Is the Voxbox rack-mountable and capable of stereo linking?
The unit occupies 3U, with dimensions of 482 x 133 x 254 mm and a weight of 9.5 kg. Dedicated link buttons allow chaining two units for stereo operation. The large backlit Sifam VU meter features five display modes.
