Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
The Studio JTM 20H follows in the footsteps of the very first Marshall amps that laid the foundations of the British rock sound: a warm clean, a snappy attack, and a natural crunch when the volume is pushed. This "Studio" version aims to concentrate this historic character into a more portable head, with modern features (DI, effects loop) and power better suited for studio, rehearsal, and small gigs.
Who This Amp Is For
This head is aimed at guitarists who want an authentic tube sound without dealing with power levels that are hard to manage at home. Ideal in studio for recording organic crunch tones, in rehearsal with an efficient cabinet, and on stage for contexts where volume is controlled (or miked). It particularly shines in blues, vintage rock, classic rock, and anything that requires pick dynamics and an amp that finely responds to guitar volume control.

Questions frequently asked
Marshall Studio JTM Head 20W: is it possible to reduce the power?
A power attenuator allows switching from 20 W to 5 W to achieve the amp's response at a more controlled volume level.
What kind of sound does this Marshall tube head produce?
The tube design with 2 x 5581 power tubes delivers a warm clean tone, then a tight crunch as the volumes increase. Pick dynamics and the guitar's volume control directly influence the overdrive.
How do the 4 inputs work?
The 4 jack inputs allow using the vintage-inspired architecture and linking inputs via patch cables to combine textures. The 3-band EQ and presence control then adjust the tonal response.
Is there an effects loop and a DI output?
The connectivity includes an effects loop on a 6.35 mm jack and a DI output on a 6.35 mm jack. Five additional 6.35 mm jack outputs are also provided to connect an external speaker cabinet.
Does this head have reverb or a headphone output?
No reverb or headphone output is integrated. There is also no footswitch connection or MIDI interface.
