An Ocean Machine "II" Tailored for Modern Soundscapes

Mooer made its name through its ultra-technological approach and compact formats, aiming to make professional-level sounds accessible to guitarists. The Ocean Machine II follows this logic but with a clear ambition: to gather everything needed to build soundscapes, echo rhythms, and deep atmospheres in a single pedal, without multiplying modules on the pedalboard. This second generation retains the "studio" spirit of the series, with ergonomics focused on programming and memory, allowing quick transitions between soundscapes in seconds.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

The Ocean Machine II is aimed at guitarists (and more broadly musicians using a stereo source) who want to work on the spatial dimension of their sound. It excels in alternative rock, post-rock, atmospheric metal, ambient, modern pop, worship, sound design, and all aesthetics where delays and reverb are layered to create a "halo" around notes.
In the home studio, it allows sculpting clean and detailed textures while maintaining a practical preset logic for quickly recalling settings. Live, the Tap Tempo, Freeze, stereo capabilities, and direct access to banks facilitate transitions, floating intros, and suspended song endings.

Controls, Routing, and Memory: A Pedal Designed as a Creative Hub

The heart of the Ocean Machine II lies in two independent delay blocks, each offering 15 delay types ranging from tight, rhythmic echoes to more textured repetitions. Added to this is a reverb with 9 types, including a shimmer mode to widen the spectrum and add an airy quality, ideal for sustained chords and melodies.
The programmable effects chain allows organizing the order of effects to achieve a more "classic" response (delays before reverb) or, conversely, creative architectures (reverb before delays, or more experimental combinations). The Freeze function is perfect for capturing a sound moment and improvising over it, while the Tap Tempo helps lock repetitions to the drummer or a backing track.
The LCD screen provides clear advanced programming, and the pedal features 8 banks of 3 presets, totaling 24 memory slots : a real asset for preparing a set, organizing songs, and securing sound changes. Going further, the Ocean Machine II is MIDI programmable and includes a USB-C port for updates and MIDI synchronization. An input for an external expression pedal also allows real-time parameter control, making ambiance swells more organic.

Sound Character

The Ocean Machine II stands out with a distinctly cinematic character: delays that can be precise and rhythmic but also broad and enveloping, combined with a reverb designed to add depth without overpowering the playing. Stacking the two delays easily creates complex patterns, echo cascades, and width effects that fill the space, especially thanks to the stereo inputs and outputs.
Playing dynamics remain central: playing softer keeps repetitions in the background, while accentuating attack brings out echoes for singing lead lines. The shimmer adds harmonic brilliance that enhances open chords and sustained notes, while Freeze allows setting a stable pad to build layers, harmonies, or themes on top.
