The DD-200 is part of the BOSS 200 series: compact yet ambitious pedals designed to offer great versatility without complicating usage. It carries the spirit and some sounds/functions of the DD-500, in a format easier to integrate on a pedalboard. Firmware update 1.1 expands user memory and enhances MIDI integration by making Setups directly accessible via Program Change.

The Boss DD-200 targets guitarists (and more broadly any musician in instrument/line configuration) who want a high-end delay capable of covering a full set: rock, pop, blues, indie, post-rock, shoegaze, ambient, worship, electro... It is equally comfortable in studio (precision, clarity, tempo stability) and in live settings (instant preset recall, Tap Division, foot control). Boss DD-200: How many presets are available?
The memory includes 127 user Setups plus the Manual setting, making a total of 128 slots. Since update 1.1, Setups can be recalled directly via MIDI Program Change messages.
What types of delay are offered?
The 12 modes include Standard, Analog, Tape, Drum, Shimmer, Tera Echo, Pad Echo, Pattern, Lo-Fi, Dual, Ducking, and Reverse. The Pattern, Dual, and Ducking modes notably allow building structured rhythmic repeats.
Does the pedal operate in stereo?
Two 6.35 mm jack inputs INPUT A/MONO and B, as well as two outputs OUTPUT A/MONO and B, allow for stereo operation.
Can the tempo be synchronized and controlled via MIDI?
The second footswitch can be assigned to Tap Tempo and the TAP DIVISION setting adapts the subdivision of repeats. MIDI IN and OUT connectors on stereo TRS mini-jacks ensure integration with a switcher or a synced system. The CTL 1,2/EXP input on a 6.35 mm TRS jack also accepts footswitches or an expression pedal.
