Modes, Settings, and Handling

The WoodVerb offers three sonic worlds via the MODE selector. The Reverb mode relies on plate-type reverb, useful for shifting from a small room impression to a larger space by adjusting the amount and character. The Mod mode adds modulation to the reverb, useful for widening the image and creating a more "moving" sensation, ideal on chord pads or airy intros. The Filter mode combines reverb with a sweeping filter, for a more organic and swirling texture, perfect for accents or transitions.

Regarding controls, MIX adjusts the balance between the direct guitar sound and the processed sound, a crucial point on acoustic to preserve attack and dynamics. The TONE/RATE/RANGE potentiometer acts differently depending on the selected mode: it serves to refine the color (brighter or darker), modulation speed, or sweep range, to tailor the effect to your instrument, attack, and amplification system.

The Mooer WoodVerb aims for a clean and immediate ambiance, with reverb that can remain very discreet to "lift" the acoustic from the dry sound, or become more enveloping to fill the space between notes. In Reverb mode, you get a plate-type texture, rather clear and flattering, useful for adding presence without turning the guitar into a pad. The Mod mode brings width and slight movement that highlights arpeggios and fingerpicking, while the Filter mode offers a more pronounced, more textural coloration, for psychedelic moments or cinematic atmospheres.

As always with acoustic guitar, the good practice is to start with a moderate MIX, then adjust TONE/RATE/RANGE to avoid darkening the playing or, conversely, accentuating the highs too brightly depending on your microphone, preamp, and sound system.
