A Modernized Icon in the "Luke" Lineage
A direct evolution of Steve Lukather's signature models, the Luke 4 HSS carries on the series' DNA by adding new HT pickups and redesigned electronics. Descended from the original Luke SSS, it expands the tonal palette without sacrificing the precision and ergonomics that have made this range famous at Ernie Ball Music Man.
Who Is It For and What For?
Designed for intermediate to expert guitarists, the Luke 4 HSS shines in pop-rock, melodic rock, AOR, fusion, funk, and modern blues. Its HSS configuration covers "glassy" cleans to saturated leads, while the built-in boost propels your solos without the need for an additional pedal.
The Sound
The alder body delivers dense mids and controlled highs, while the roasted maple neck provides attack and stability; the rosewood fingerboard softens the upper spectrum for a musical feel. The HT Humbucker bridge pickup offers tight lows and punchy highs for riffs and solos, complemented by two HT Single Coils with clear and wide dynamics. The 5-position selector aligns classic HSS combinations, and the push/push volume activates a transparent 12 dB boost ideal for cutting through the mix. The Silent Circuit effectively reduces single-coil noise, while the buffered output maintains tone character even with long cables. The steel floating tremolo promotes sustain and expressiveness without compromising tuning.
