An Heir Designed for the Stage, in the Electro Lineage
Since its inception, the Electro series embodies the all-in-one stage instrument combining grand pianos, vintage organs, and sample-based sounds. This generation takes the formula further with a programmable synth section, effects per section, and the organ derived from the recent "Nord Organ 3." The result: a versatile, compact performance keyboard designed for musicians who switch from piano to organ in an instant.
Keyboard Design
73-note "waterfall" semi-weighted keyboard with velocity sensitivity, perfect for organ techniques (glissandos, palm smears) while providing the resistance needed for electric and acoustic pianos. Nine split points indicated by LEDs allow clear zone organization, while the Aux KB mode opens up playing to an external master keyboard.
Sound Quality
Piano Section powered by the Nord Piano Library with dedicated Flash ROM, sympathetic resonance, dynamic filters, and dynamic compression for realistic nuances, plus three velocity curves. Organ Section offering 6 models (tonewheel, transistor, liturgical) and a fully revamped rotary speaker simulation (microphone position and "stop position"). Synth Section versatile: sample playback, analog waveforms, and FM synthesis to cover modern and vintage textures.
Built-in Effects
Each module has its own effects: tremolo, pan 1/2, wah, ring mod (Effect 1); phaser, flanger, chorus, ensemble, vibe (Effect 2). Five amp simulations with saturation and 3-band EQ with semi-parametric mids, delay (analog, ping-pong, tap tempo), and a single-knob compressor. In master, reverb with 5 algorithms (room, stage, spring, hall, cathedral) and bright/dark modes.

Questions frequently asked
Is the 73-note keyboard of the Nord Electro 7-73 suitable for organ playing?
The 73-note waterfall keyboard is semi-weighted and velocity-sensitive. This action facilitates glissandos and palm smears while maintaining an appropriate resistance for piano sounds.
What types of organs are available?
The Organ section includes 6 models: 3 tonewheel organs, 2 transistor organs, and 1 liturgical organ from the Nord Organ 3.
Can splits be created with an external MIDI master keyboard?
Nine split points, indicated by LEDs, allow zone allocation across the keyboard. The Aux KB mode enables control of a module via an external MIDI keyboard. Layer, split, and crossfade modes are also available.
What connectivity does this stage piano offer?
Connectivity includes stereo outputs on 2 jacks, a headphone output, MIDI DIN ports, and a USB to Host port. Inputs are provided for sustain, expression, footswitch, rotary speaker control, and a stereo mini-jack monitor in.
What effects are integrated in the Nord Electro 7-73?
Five amp simulations with saturation, a 3-band EQ with semi-parametric mids, and a delay with tap tempo are available. A master reverb offers 5 algorithms, including spring, hall, and cathedral.
