About the brand Nord
It was in 1983 that Hans Nordelius, the founder of the Nord brand, created the Digital Percussion Plate 1, the first drum pad to offer dynamic play with sampled sounds. This DPP1 quickly met with great success and gave birth to the ddrum brand.
In 1995, Clavia introduced its first synthesizer, the Nord Lead, offering a unique approach to analog synthesis emulation as well as a distinctive sound and a particularly intuitive user interface. The Nord Modular appeared shortly after, in 1997, and proved to be the first digital modular synthesizer.
It was in 2001 that the first Nord Electro was born, featuring incredible vintage electromechanical instrument emulations and unprecedented portability. The Nord Stage appeared four years later and brought together several areas of Clavia's expertise: acoustic and electric piano sounds, organ emulations, effects, and even a synthesizer. In 2005, the Nord C1 combo organ also came into existence, as did the Nord Wave in 2007.
The Nord Piano was introduced in 2010 and revealed cutting-edge technology for string resonance and the remarkable Nord Triple Pedal. In 2013, Nord celebrated its 30th anniversary by releasing the Nord Lead 4, the Nord Drum2, the Nord Pad, and the Nord Piano 2 HP.
It was in 2019 that we met a stage piano with extraordinary potential: the Nord Grand. Nord has continued its heritage by constantly improving the various models in its range. The models currently marketed are the Nord Grand, the Nord Piano 4, the Nord Stage 3 (NS3-88, NS3-76HP, NS3-COMPACT), the Nord Electro 6 (NE6-HP, NE6D-73, NE6D-61), the Nord C2, the Nord Lead 4, the Nord Lead A1, the Nord Wave 2, and the Nord Drum 3P pad.
