Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

The Thunder TH30 fits within the spirit of modern British heads: an all-tube construction, Class A operation, and an "efficient" approach to controls for quickly switching from a tight clean to dense distortion. Its 30W head format places it at the heart of the sweet spot sought by many guitarists: powerful enough to hold a band, yet flexible enough to be used without playing at extreme volumes.

Who This Amp Is For

This head is aimed at the intermediate to advanced guitarist who wants a true response to attack and organic saturation without resorting to modeling. In the studio, the TH30 is suitable for recording precise rhythm takes (clean/crunch) and well-defined high-gain guitars. In rehearsal and on stage, its all-tube 30W power delivers solid projection, especially convincing with 2x12 or 4x12 cabinets.

Regarding styles, it excels in classic rock, hard rock, punk/alternative, as well as modern genres (post-hardcore, modern metal) thanks to a saturated channel that "kicks in" early and remains flexible. If you play with pedals, the clean channel provides a stable foundation, and the effects loop facilitates integrating an ambient or lead-oriented setup.

Great amp, great sound. It's a riff machine. Super easy to use, we plug in we turn three knobs and we're off to explode the brains of the rest of the group.
    The only two faults:
    - the significant difference in volume between the 2 channels is very surprising at the time, I thought there was a problem but apparently this is normal, this is due to the design of the 2 channels which do not work in the same way. But this is still the only difficult point to fix if you, like me, want to go from a magnificent clear and soaring sound to a big muddy saturation (yes I do stoner).
    - The other negative point the absence of a footswitch... has more than 800€ the amp on sale, they will not make us believe at Orange that they are at 40€ before...
But frankly in the end I am forgiving because frankly if you like the Orange grain like me, the clear sound that turns to crunch as soon as you attack a little and the big saturation that really stains this is the dream amp.
