Ovation Celebrity Cs Standard Mid Cutaway Black

An Ovation Electro-Acoustic Designed for Amplified Playing

This Celebrity CS embodies Ovation's DNA: a performance-oriented design featuring a Lyrachord body and a central soundhole (Center Soundhole) that promote stability and consistent tone, especially when amplified. The Black finish, pearloid inlays, and multi-ply cream binding enhance a sleek, modern, and very stage-appropriate look.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

Thanks to its cutaway and preamp with tuner, this electro-acoustic is particularly suited for advanced beginner to intermediate guitarists who want to play rehearsals, on stage, or in the home studio without hassle. It adapts well to pop, acoustic rock, folk, picking, and strumming, offering comfortable handling and effective access to the upper frets.

Sound Characteristics

The solid spruce top delivers clarity, projection, and a good dynamic range, ideal for maintaining definition when picking harder with a pick. The scalloped carved X bracing with quartersawn profiled braces promotes a responsive top, with softer bass and airy trebles. The Mid-depth Lyrachord body contributes to a clear attack and a sense of precision, highly appreciated in amplified playing, while the CP-100 Slimline pickup and OP-4CT preamp provide a direct, balanced sound that is easily controllable in live situations.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To use the electronics, plan for a 6.35 mm instrument jack cable. Steel strings for acoustic guitar are suitable for regular maintenance, and a strap (with standard attachment) is recommended for standing play.
