The DJM-A9 targets professional and resident club DJs, back-to-back collectives, and event sound engineers. The input section adopts 32-bit ESS A/D converters, while the Master and Booth outputs benefit from 32-bit D/A converters for monitoring identical to the track. Redesigned isolators offer a more musical response. The Center Lock secures the Sound Color FX, and the Beat FX section features a new color screen, a horizontal X-Pad, and 3 new effects ("Mobius," "Triplet Filter," "Triplet Roll"). The microphone section evolves with phantom power, dedicated effects (Echo, Pitch, Megaphone), and a Push-to-Talk button, with the option to exclude the voice from recording. On the connectivity side, two sets of USB Type-B and Type-C ports facilitate DJ changes, the Bluetooth input is assignable to any channel, and the Multi I/O section allows true external effects send/return.
