A DI Designed for Consumer Sources on Stage
The Radial Trim-Two is a passive direct box designed to meet a very practical need: cleanly connecting "consumer" sources (laptop, phone, tablet, audio player) to a sound system while maintaining easily accessible volume control. It fits within Radial's typical reliability ethos, with a design focused on stage, presentations, conferences, and live performances where adjustments must be quick and reliable.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
The Trim-Two is aimed at musicians, DJs, technicians, stage managers, and presenters who use audio content from mobile or computer devices. It is especially useful when the source changes frequently (multiple devices, various cable types) or when a presenter needs to adjust their level independently during a performance, speech, or playback.

Questions frequently asked
Can the Radial TRIM-two connect a phone or laptop to a mixing console?
The 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack, RCA, and 6.35 mm jack inputs allow mobile devices or computers to be connected to two XLR outputs intended for the console.
Does the Trim-Two require a power supply?
Completely passive, this direct box does not require any power or batteries.
Can the volume be adjusted directly on the DI?
An output level control is available on the unit. It allows quick adjustment of the volume sent to the sound system. The maximum input level is rated at 20 dBu.
How can hum be eliminated with the Radial TRIM-two?
The ground lift switch on the XLR outputs helps reduce buzz and hum caused by ground loops, especially when a computer is connected to its charger.
Can the output be used in mono with a stereo monitor return?
The Mono/SUM switch allows adaptation to a mono system. Since the jack, RCA, and mini-jack inputs are wired in parallel, another pair can serve as a stereo thru output to monitors or a recorder.
