Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range
Designed to provide more focus than a simple open single-ply head, the "Powerstroke 3 Transparent" is positioned as a classic harmonic control head without sacrificing sensitivity or dynamics. It sits between very open heads and heavily dampened models.
Who This Head Is For
For beginner to intermediate drummers seeking a clean and punchy sound for rock, pop, funk, gospel, or metal. Versatile, it is suitable for toms, snare drums, and bass drums depending on the chosen diameter.
Features and Innovations
Its unique 10 mil film ensures quick response and durability. The discreet and lightweight internal damping ring cleans up unwanted resonances without choking the shell. The two black rings provide playing stability and a constant tuning reference.
Sound
Transparent = bright attack and clear projection. The internal ring tightens the spectrum, emphasizes the fundamental, and reduces "ring" for a short to medium sustain, ideal under microphones and in live settings.
