A Sadowsky 5-string that connects the "J-Style" DNA with "MM" impact
Following the lineage of the "J-Style" basses that built Sadowsky's reputation, this 5-string adds a "MM" type humbucker at the bridge to push the register towards more attack, presence, and punch. Made in Germany, it stands as a modern electric bass designed to deliver uncompromising performances, with a clear, tight, and perfectly controlled signature, both in the studio and on stage.
A bass designed for demanding musicians, from studio to stage
This Sadowsky targets intermediate to professional bassists seeking a responsive, stable instrument that's immediately usable in a band setting. Its MM/J configuration covers a wide range: precise funk and slap, solid-bottomed pop and R&B, rock and fusion with prominent mids, and even gospel with clear definition on the B string. The ergonomics, standard scale length, and lightweight hardware enhance comfort during long sessions.
The sound
The J-Style hum-cancelling neck pickup delivers an articulated, clean, and quiet tone, ideal for defined lines and right-hand nuances. At the bridge, the MM hum-cancelling provides a sharper attack, tight lows, and punchy mids that cut through the mix, perfect for percussive parts and modern sounds. The combination of Volume and Balance controls allows fine-tuning between roundness and bite, while the 2-band preamp refines the low-end foundation and high-end clarity. The Vintage Tone Control acts as a passive tone knob to soften the spectrum, and its push/pull feature enables bypassing the preamp for a more traditional behavior. On the craftsmanship side, the sinker ash enhances projection and definition, the amourette top adds density and precision, and the torrefied maple contributes to stability, attack, and sustain.
