Sire Guitars S5 Ow Dc Mn Olympic White

The Larry Carlton signature at Sire: a refined, ready-to-play “S” spirit

Developed in collaboration with Larry Carlton, the S5 is part of the Sire range designed to recreate the feel of an “S”-style solid-body guitar, with quality finishing and immediate playability. It relies on proven construction choices (alder body, bolt-on maple neck) and simple, effective electronics, making it a reliable guitar for home use, rehearsals, the studio or the stage.

Who is it for and which styles does it suit?

The Sire Larry Carlton S5 is aimed at both the motivated beginner and the experienced guitarist looking for an expressive, easy-to-adjust electric guitar. Its “double cutaway” ergonomics and Medium Jumbo frets encourage fluid playing, comfortable bends and good intonation across the entire key. In terms of styles, it naturally covers funk, pop, blues, rock, indie and fusion, with real ease on both clean tones and crunch sounds.

The sound

The alder body delivers a highly musical balance, with pronounced mids and an even response, while the maple neck and key add attack and definition for tight rhythms and clear-sounding arpeggios. The three Sire Super-V LC single-coil pickups deliver bright, dynamic clean tones and lively crunch sounds that remain articulate. Positions 2 and 4 on the 5-way pickup selector provide the characteristic “quack”, perfect for funk, muted rhythm parts and cutting accompaniment. The 1 volume + 1 tone circuit keeps things straightforward for quickly shaping brightness, while the Sire S7 V2 bridge, combined with the bone nut and locking tuners, contributes to solid tuning stability and convincing sustain.

Recommended compatible accessories

To get the best from this 25.5" / 648 mm scale length, a set of 10-46 electric guitar strings is a versatile standard, equally at home with rhythm playing and solos. A good-quality strap is also recommended, particularly given the stated weight, to improve comfort during long sessions.
