The V5 Alder-4 FL follows the tradition of Jazz-type basses: a simple, efficient, and straightforward design focused on playing and finger personality. The choice of a passive platform highlights the natural dynamics and "unfiltered" response of the instrument, while the torrefied maple adds an aged appearance and increased stability, which is appreciated on a fretless bass where intonation and consistency are as important as tone.

The Sound

The alder body provides a balanced spectrum with warm mids and even projection, ideal for fitting into a mix without forcing. The torrefied maple neck and maple fingerboard enhance attack and clarity, very useful for articulating notes on a fretless. The Super-J single-coil pickups deliver the definition and bite typical of a Jazz bass, and the passive V/V/T wiring allows fine blending of the neck pickup (roundness) and bridge pickup (precision and grain). With a 34" / 864 mm scale length, a 16" / 406 mm radius, and a 38 mm / 1.50" nut width, the playability remains fast, precise, and conducive to controlled slides, while maintaining solid note sustain thanks to the Vintage-S bridge.
