Born in the shadow of the Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face, the If 6 Was 9 MKII carries on the sonic aesthetic that defined rock in the '60s and '70s. An evolution of the BC183 model launched over ten years ago, this MKII preserves the vintage soul while adding contemporary tools for exemplary reliability and consistency on stage and in the studio.

Controls and Innovations Serving Your Playing

The MKII features an internal voltage booster controlled by the Volts 5-15V knob to choose between smooth compression or a firmer, more open attack. The Bias adjusts the core of the circuit for textures ranging from gated to singing sustain. Saturate adjusts input gain and impedance for better "cleanup" and perfect compatibility with a wah. The Body selector offers three complementary voicings, while Fuzz and Volume finalize the saturation amount and output level.

The Sound

Expect thick but controlled bass, present mids that cut through the mix, and silky highs without harshness.
