Questions frequently asked
What center-to-center distance is required to replace a snare drum shell?
This shell requires a 76 mm center-to-center distance between the two mounting points. The drilling holes must have a diameter of 6 mm.
Is the Sparedrum L23SD2 compatible with standard snare tension rods?
The threading for the tension rods is standard #12-24, with a diameter of 7/32 inch. Compatibility therefore depends on the threading of the existing tension rods on the snare drum.
What type of screws are needed to mount this shell?
The mounting requires M4 screws.
Does this chrome shell protect the snare drum shell?
An insulating rubber is provided between the shell and the drum shell. This improves stability and reduces the risk of marks on the finish.
Can a 76 mm shell improve tuning stability?
The connection between the tension rod and the drum shell contributes to tuning stability. Thanks to its insulation, this shell helps contain some unwanted vibrations. Tension can thus be felt more evenly during tuning.
