A modern mono channel strip designed for "studio-ready" recording
In a home studio setup or fast production environment, the goal is often the same: to obtain a clean, stable, and already shaped signal at the recording stage. This 1-channel console strip follows this logic by combining the essential processing of a console channel (preamplification, sibilance control, compression, limiting, and equalization) into a 1U rack format. The result: less external chaining, a more direct workflow, and more consistent takes right from capture.
Who is it for and what are its uses?
This channel strip is aimed at creators who want to save time and secure their recordings: singers and sound engineers in home studios, podcasters, streamers, rehearsal studios, or control rooms needing a reliable mono channel for lead vocals, voice-over, live bass, or acoustic instruments miked. Thanks to the 6.3 mm jack instrument input and the line input with adjustable gain, it can also serve as a versatile "front-end" before an audio interface, console, or recorder.
Integrated processing: control, musicality, and security on a single channel
Mic, line, and instrument preamp: an input adapted to each source
The mic preamp offers up to 68 dB of gain, a benefit for microphones requiring significant amplification. The 48 V phantom power activates as needed for condenser mics, while the 80 Hz high-pass filter helps clean vibrations, plosives, and rumbles even before dynamic processing. For line-level sources, the adjustable gain (from -12 dB to +22 dB) facilitates adaptation to your chain, and the front-panel instrument input allows direct connection of a guitar or bass with a gain range designed for playing dynamics and attack.
De-esser: cleaner vocals without smoothing character
The de-esser with adjustable "S" reduction targets sibilance (s, ch, t) that tires the ear and complicates mixing. Positioned correctly in the chain, it keeps vocals present and detailed while limiting excessive sibilance at the source, which is especially useful for narration, pop singing, and close-miking.
Compressor and soft limiter: controlled dynamics, peaks under control
The compressor features a threshold adjustment via compression control, make-up gain to restore level after reduction, and a gain reduction display to adjust by ear while keeping a visual reference. Additionally, the soft limiter acts as protection against overly strong transients: practical to avoid clipping during conversion, stabilize energetic vocals, or handle dynamic bass without losing musicality.
Semi-parametric equalizer and "air" band: sculpt without overprocessing
The equalizer offers semi-parametric low/mid and mid/high bands to precisely address problem areas (muddy, nasal, harsh), and an "air" band at 19 kHz to add a sense of openness and definition. This approach effectively brings vocals forward in the mix, restores clarity to an acoustic guitar, or adds brightness to a DI while maintaining a natural imprint.
Compressor-Link: stereo coherence when you need it
The Compressor-Link function facilitates paired use (for example with a second unit) to achieve consistent compression behavior on a stereo bus or source pair, useful for stereo recordings requiring a stable image.

Questions frequently asked
Does the SPL Track One MK3 provide enough gain for a demanding microphone?
The microphone preamp delivers up to 68 dB of gain, allowing amplification of microphones that require a high level. The 48 V phantom power is available for condenser microphones.
Can a guitar or bass be plugged in directly?
A 6.3 mm instrument input is accessible on the front panel for direct connection of a guitar or bass. The line input also features adjustable gain from -12 dB to +22 dB.
What vocal processing is integrated on this console channel strip?
The signal chain includes an adjustable de-esser to reduce sibilance, a compressor with gain reduction meter, and a soft limiter. An 80 Hz high-pass filter helps attenuate vibrations and plosives before dynamic processing. The 3-band EQ includes a fixed air band at 19 kHz.
Does the EQ allow correction of midrange on vocals or acoustic guitar?
The low/mid and mid/high bands are semi-parametric, allowing targeting of muddiness, nasal tones, or harshness. The 19 kHz air band adds openness in the high spectrum.
Can the Track One MK3 be used in stereo with two units?
The Compressor-Link function allows coupling two units to synchronize compression behavior on a stereo source or bus.
