An Encyclopedia of Modulations, from Vintage Spirit to Modern Creations
The Mobius is designed as a collection of "reference" modulation effects: it draws inspiration from the major families that have shaped the last five decades (pulsed tremolo, lush chorus, psychedelic phaser, vibrant rotary), then pushes the concept further thanks to powerful processing and deep editing options. Within the Strymon range, it stands as the dedicated modulation platform: a pedal crafted to cover the classics but also to open up more experimental territories, from rhythmic groove to near-synthetic textures.
For Whom, Which Styles, and In What Contexts?
The Strymon Mobius is aimed equally at discerning guitarists, keyboardists, and studio musicians seeking rich, musical, and immediately usable modulation. In blues, funk, and pop, it adds movement without masking the attack. In rock and prog, it chains clean, tempo-synced presets with formidable precision. In ambient, post-rock, and experimental music, its more unusual engines (autoswell, formant, destroyer, filter) become true sound design tools.
Live, preset access, Tap Tempo, and MIDI control secure sound changes. In the studio, the conversion quality and dynamic range allow stacking modulations without any veil effect, and the stereo output provides a wide and detailed image.

Questions frequently asked
What modulation effects are available on the Strymon Mobius?
The 12 built-in engines cover Chorus, Flanger, Rotary, Vibe, Phaser, Filter, Formant, Vintage Trem, Pattern Trem, Autoswell, Destroyer, and Quadrature.
How many presets can the pedal store?
The memory includes 200 presets accessible via the LED display and the three metal footswitches. Param 1 and Param 2 settings can be assigned and saved for each preset.
Is the Mobius controllable via MIDI?
Full MIDI allows preset selection and remote parameter control. Synchronization to a MIDI clock is provided to lock tremolos or rhythmic patterns to the tempo. The Tap function is also accessible with a dedicated footswitch.
How does the Pre/Post routing work?
Thanks to the Pre/Post mode, the pedal can be placed in two distinct positions within a mono chain. Modulation can thus occur before distortion and then after it without changing the cabling.
Can it accept a line-level signal or be used with a keyboard?
An input accepting up to +8 dBu is specified compatible with instrument and line signals, allowing use with an electric guitar or a keyboard.
