What Toontrack The Metal Foundry SDX Is For
Toontrack The Metal Foundry SDX is an SDX expansion designed to enrich Superior Drummer with a drum sound library focused on hard rock to metal. It is aimed at producers, composers, and drummers who want to program realistic parts, enhance acoustic takes, or create powerful and nuanced drum kits for styles ranging from classic heavy rock to thrash, death, and progressive aesthetics. Thanks to its very "studio" approach, The Metal Foundry SDX is especially useful if you are looking for a credible starting point (presets) while retaining the freedom to shape the attack, depth, and space of the drums in the mix, depending on the guitar density and the space left for the bass.
Main Features
A library designed for metal, without compromise
The Metal Foundry SDX gathers seven kits and a wide selection of pieces to cover several sonic signatures: deep and punchy kick drums, snare drums that "cut through" the wall of guitars, massive toms for breaks, cymbals capable of remaining clear in fast passages. The goal is simple: to provide you with material to produce imposing drums that are still usable in a modern mix.Kit presets to speed up workflow
When production time is tight, the included presets allow you to start with an immediately usable artistic direction. You can then adjust the balance, impact, and color according to your arrangement (double kick, blasts, mid-tempo grooves, breakdowns) and according to the drum's role: ultra-dry rhythmic engine or, on the contrary, a wide and "anthem" kit.A MIDI base dedicated to rock and metal grooves
To speed up composition, the expansion includes a dedicated MIDI library covering styles from hard rock to metal, performed by Gene Hoglan, Dirk Verbeuren, and session drummer Peter Tisell.Convenient for building a complete structure (intro, verse, chorus, bridge), varying articulations, and achieving natural transitions without spending hours drawing every nuance with the mouse.
