The Apollo DNA, at the heart of Universal Audio's rack range
Designed to succeed the iconic Apollo x8p, this 2nd generation version raises the level of detail thanks to even more precise converters and a Dual Crystal Clocking. It retains what makes the strength of Universal Audio's rack series (stability, sound quality, UAD integration) while bringing corrected monitoring and a more modern Console for today's workflows.
Who is it for? Sound engineers, artistic producers, and multitasking studios
The Apollo x8p (2nd generation) is aimed at producers who record drums, ensembles, or multi-mic setups, and want to mix with ambitious processing chains. The 8 Unison preamps offer the versatility needed in professional studios as well as high-end home studios, while Mac/Windows compatibility and Thunderbolt 3 ensure smooth integration with all DAWs.
New features and accelerated workflow
More precise converters, controlled monitoring
The new 24-bit/192 kHz conversion delivers a stable stereo image and ultra-defined transients. Coupled with Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks, it guarantees that your mixing decisions translate faithfully on other listening systems, both in the studio and on headphones. The Dual Crystal Clock reduces jitter for pure, artifact-free recordings.
Modernized Console to save time
The latest UAD Console introduces Auto-Gain, plug-in scenes, bass management, and native 7.1 support. You instantly adapt your tracking setups, musician monitors, and immersive listening without leaving your creative flow.
Hybrid system with UAD + host power
The HEXA Core DSP processes UAD plug-ins in real time while your computer handles the rest of the session. The result: complex chains on inputs (Unison preamps, EQ, compressors, reverbs) and agile mixing, with no compromise on feel or stability.
A studio that grows with you
With cascading up to four Apollos via Thunderbolt, you easily expand your analog and digital I/O while maintaining centralized control of the Console and monitoring.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Apollo X8P Analog Classics compatible with Mac and Windows?
Compatibility is ensured with both Mac and PC computers via Thunderbolt 3. The interface integrates with digital audio workstations on both platforms.
How many microphone preamps are available?
Eight Unison preamps are built-in for multi-mic setups, notably when recording drums or ensembles.
What audio resolution does this Universal Audio interface offer?
Conversion reaches 24-bit / 192 kHz. The Dual Crystal Clocking is designed to reduce jitter during recording.
Can UAD plug-ins be used for real-time recording?
The HEXA Core DSP handles real-time processing of UAD plug-ins. Chains including Unison preamps, equalizers, compressors, and reverbs can thus be applied on inputs. The computer simultaneously handles the rest of the session.
How can the number of inputs and outputs be expanded with this Apollo?
Up to four Apollo interfaces can be cascaded via Thunderbolt to increase analog and digital I/O. Control remains centralized through the Console and monitoring system.
