VOX Heritage, Sixties Spirit, and Portable Format
Inspired by the iconic VOX guitars of the 1960s, the APC-1 "Red Apache" combines vintage looks with modern technology. It condenses the brand's DNA into a compact instrument designed for mobility and spontaneity, without sacrificing the sonic personality that made VOX amplifiers famous.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
Ideal for beginners as well as intermediate players seeking an immediate setup, the Vox APC-1 is suitable for light rehearsals, home playing, discreet busking, or traveling. Its drum machine and effects make it comfortable in rock, pop, blues, funk, jazz, as well as ambient textures and latin/dance grooves.
Sound
The built-in analog amplification captures the bright and punchy character associated with VOX tones, featuring progressive gain and a BOOST to push saturation. The single pickup feeds a simple and effective electronics setup: TONE to shape the highs, VOLUME for dynamics. The Tectonic speaker with near-omnidirectional dispersion ensures clear and even projection, while the effects (chorus, tremolo, delay, reverb) enrich the space and sustain. The result: a versatile instrument that goes from crisp clean to singing crunch, ideal for composing and jamming without a pedalboard.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Prepare a set of AA batteries (alkaline or rechargeable NiMH) for power. For maintenance and playing, choose a standard 6-string electric guitar string set (9-42 for comfort or 10-46 for more attack), an electric guitar capo, and a clip-on tuner to stay in tune at all times.
