From Analog Tape to Modern Studios: The Legacy of the WA-MPX

Inspired by the legendary 351-style tube preamp that shaped early rock recordings, the WA-MPX delivers this warm, three-dimensional signature that has become a benchmark for audio engineers. Following the brand's high-end recreations, it condenses the spirit of vintage tape machines into a modern, reliable, and consistent rack format.

Who Is the WA-MPX For?

Designed for recording and mixing, it excels on vocals, guitars, DI bass, overheads, or room mics. Its immense gain reserve and impedance management make it an ally for ribbon microphones. In bus or stem processing, the tape saturation adds a musical glue ideal for mixing and even sweetening in mastering.

Key Features to Sculpt Your Tone

Massive Gain and Headroom

Three tubes per channel, 300 V on the circuit, and a discrete audio path deliver immediate analog punch. The "High Gain" switch adds 20 dB to reach 90 dB without sacrificing definition.

15 IPS Tape Saturation

A dedicated discrete circuit inserts organic compression and rich harmonics, with slight filtering that focuses energy on the mids for impactful sources.

Impedance and "Tone" Control

Impedance switching modulates the input transformer to refine body and air. Polarity control, 80 Hz and 2 kHz filters, and output attenuator facilitate integration into any studio chain.
