RockBass 2024: The "Classic Warwick" Range Modernized
The RockBass range has been revamped for 2024, with an approach faithful to Warwick's identity: offering instruments inspired by the brand's great classics while remaining at a more accessible price point. You will find the ergonomics, technical choices, and sonic markers that have contributed to Warwick's reputation, in a bass designed to cover a wide spectrum of musical situations.
For Which Bassists and Styles?
This 5-string electric bass is aimed at both intermediate bassists and experienced musicians seeking a versatile and reliable 5-string. The active PJ configuration is particularly comfortable in rock, funk, metal, pop, and gospel, with a low B string useful for modern tunings and deeper lines.
The Sound
The active MEC P and active MEC J pickup duo allows switching from a solid and muscular low-midrange (P pickup) to a more precise and articulated attack (J pickup), or combining both for a very versatile balance. The RockBass active electronics with Volume, Balance, Treble, and Bass controls facilitate quick adaptation to an amp, stage, or busy mix.
The ash body promotes good projection and clear attack, while the wenge fingerboard provides definition and a sharp dynamic response. The bolt-on neck contributes to a crisp attack and direct tone, ideal for pick playing as well as slap.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel, prioritize a set of Warwick Red Strings .045-.135 (same gauge as factory-installed) for long scale 34.0" / 863.6 mm basses. A soft microfiber cloth is also suitable for regular maintenance, especially with a glossy or satin finish depending on the color.
