The Link Between the CP and YC Series
The CK61 combines the stage piano heritage of the CP range with the organ/synth approach of the YC range in an ultra-portable format. It features acoustic and electric pianos, drawbar organs, strings, brass, and modern synths, all organized into "Live Set" memories (160 slots) for seamless splits and layers in live contexts.
Keyboard Design
The CK61 adopts a 61-key FSB keyboard, semi-weighted with velocity response. Its mechanism offers the fast attack sought after for organs and synths while maintaining precise feel for piano parts. The balanced key travel and progressive resistance promote nuanced precision and clean glides essential for stage playing.
Sound Quality
At the heart of the instrument, the AWM2 and AWM organ flute engines deliver 363 live-ready tones: expressive acoustic and electric pianos, drawbar organs, pads, and leads. The 128-note polyphony ensures dense layers without note dropouts, while the integrated 2x6 W amplification system turns any venue into a stage or rehearsal space.
Built-in Effects
A broad onboard effects section covers essentials: reverb, chorus, delay, brilliance, and Master EQ, along with dedicated treatments for organs and synth sounds to shape your tone in real time.

Questions frequently asked
Does the Yamaha CK61 have a weighted piano-style keyboard?
The 61-key FSB keyboard is semi-weighted and velocity-sensitive. This mechanism favors a fast attack for organ and synth sounds while maintaining progressive resistance for piano parts.
Can splits and layers be created for live performance?
160 Live Set slots allow saving split and layer configurations. Dedicated volume sliders for each part make adjustment easy during play.
What sounds and polyphony are available?
The AWM2 and AWM organ flute sound engines offer 363 voices, including acoustic pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, brass, and synths. Polyphony goes up to 128 voices to handle sound layering.
What audio and MIDI connectivity is built-in?
There are two line inputs and two line outputs in 6.3 mm jack format, plus a stereo headphone output (6.3 mm). MIDI In/Out ports and a USB To Host with 2x2 audio interface enable connection to MIDI gear and computers. A USB To Device port supports USB flash drives.
Can the CK61 operate without mains power?
Power can be supplied by 8 AA alkaline or Ni-MH batteries, and the two built-in speakers provide 2 x 6 W output.
