Within the Clavinova CLP series, the CLP-775 positions itself as a "piano"-oriented model: prioritizing touch, expressiveness, and sound quality while retaining the modern tools expected from a digital piano (recording, connectivity, playing modes). Its cabinet with refined aesthetics (here in rosewood) and three pedals enhance the "upright piano" experience, ideal for the living room, workspace studio, or a dedicated room.

Keyboard Design

The CLP-775 features a GrandTouch keyboard with 88 keys including wooden white keys, synthetic ivory and ebony finishes, and escapement for precise attack and better finger grip. The response is enhanced by 88-key linear graded hammers, providing a heavier feel in the bass and lighter in the treble, just like an acoustic piano. The dynamics adapt to your playing with 6 velocity curves (Hard2, Hard1, Medium, Soft1, Soft2, Fixed), useful for both classical technique and pianists with a lighter touch.

Sound Quality

Two premium piano sound sources lie at the heart of the CLP-775: the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. For headphone playing, Binaural Sampling (on "CFX Grand" and "Bösendorfer" only) enhances spatial sensation and places the piano more naturally. The Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) technology enriches resonances (strings, soundboard, pedals), and Grand Expression Modeling emphasizes subtle nuances and articulations. With 256-note polyphony and 38 voices, you maintain excellent note sustain, even in layered (Dual) mode with sustain and reverb. The multi-way amplification system contributes to a more "piano-like" listening experience, with body in the bass and definition in the treble.

Ideal for effective practice, the CLP-775 integrates a metronome, a Duo mode (convenient for two players on the same range), and a large library of pieces: 23 demos, 50 classics, and 303 lesson songs. Tempo control is very wide (5 to 500), with transposition (-12 to +12) and precise tuning (414.8 to 466.8 Hz, increments of about 0.2 Hz) to play with other instruments or adapt to specific repertoires.
