The Clavinova CSP-255 fits within the spirit of the CSP-200 series: a digital piano that maintains a "piano" approach (touch, expressiveness, sound) while adding a modern and immediate dimension. Here, the experience centers on the Smart Pianist app and the Light Guide: you select a piece, display the sheet music or chord chart, and the instrument accompanies you step by step. The result: an elegant, responsive keyboard for the home that can become a true practice partner, as well as a full arranger to accompany yourself in many styles.

Keyboard Design

The CSP-255 features a GrandTouch-S 88-key keyboard designed to bring your playing sensations closer to those of an acoustic piano. The synthetic ivory and ebony surfaces improve grip and comfort, while the escapement provides a more realistic feel in delicate nuances. The response is customizable via several velocity curves (Soft2, Soft1, Medium, Hard1, Hard2) and a Fixed mode. On the control side, the 3 pedals (Damper with half-pedal function, Sostenuto, Soft) also offer useful assignments for stage or arrangement use (Glide, Style Start/Stop, Volume, etc.).

Sound Quality

The sound base highlights two reference grand pianos: the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. For headphone playing, binaural sampling is available on the "CFX Grand" and "Bösendorfer" voices, enhancing the sense of space and naturalness. Expressiveness is enriched by Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) (realistic body and string resonances) and Grand Expression Modeling (finer timbre variations according to your touch). With a maximum polyphony of 256 notes and a large sound palette (772 voices + 47 Drum/SFX kits, totaling 819), the CSP-255 remains fluid even in layers (Dual) and accompaniment. Sound projection is ensured by a 2 x 40 W amplification and 2 speakers of 16 cm, complemented by listening optimizations adapted for home playing.
