Its aesthetics remain refined without being ostentatious: black and cream binding, a wood rope-pattern rosette, a tortoiseshell-style pickguard and Cosmo Black tuners create an elegant overall look. Details subtly inspired by Japanese craftsmanship give this acoustic guitar a distinctive visual identity, befitting its high-end construction.

The FG7 RX is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists looking for an acoustic guitar capable of covering a wide range of contexts: voice-and-guitar accompaniment, contemporary folk, pop, acoustic rock, country, blues and instrumental playing. Its dreadnought body provides the foundation needed for playing in a group, while retaining enough finesse for nuanced arrangements.

The one-piece African mahogany neck, combined with an ebony key and a 44 mm nut, provides a stable yet comfortable feel. This width leaves enough room for rich open chords, fingerpicking and more elaborate voicings, without sacrificing fluidity during sustained strumming.

A Full, Precise Tone Rich in Harmonics

The solid Sitka spruce top forms the tonal heart of this Yamaha guitar. Responsive and dynamic, it delivers a clear attack, ample volume and an articulate response, even when the playing becomes more intense. The sculpted X-bracing further frees the top's vibration, enhancing the instrument's projection, resonance and liveliness.

The solid Indian rosewood back and sides enrich the response with full lows, defined highs and a generous midrange. This combination of woods enables the FG7 RX to produce complex harmonics and a depth that is especially rewarding for accompanying vocals. Notes remain clear within dense chords, while the sustain highlights arpeggios and melodic phrases.

The Atmosfeel electronics system preserves this acoustic character when plugged in. The undersaddle pickup delivers precision and presence, the contact pickup reproduces the body's resonances, and the internal microphone adds air and naturalness. The master volume, microphone balance and bass EQ controls make it easy to adapt the sound to a PA system or recording interface.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To preserve the original touch and tonal balance, this guitar can be fitted with light-gauge 80/20 bronze acoustic strings, such as the factory-fitted Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light set. An acoustic guitar humidifier is also recommended during dry periods to help preserve the solid woods. The FG7 RX already comes with its hardshell case, suitable for protecting it during transport and storage.
