An AER "pocket tool" designed as a high-end compact mixer
The Dual Mix 2 is part of AER's compact formats designed to offer, in an ultra-portable housing, the essentials of a small mixer: two quality preamps, simple and effective EQ, immediately usable effects, and connectivity designed for live use. It is a particularly relevant solution for acoustic setups where multiple sources need to be managed without overloading the pedalboard or gig bag.
For which musicians and usage contexts?
The AER Dual Mix 2 is aimed at acoustic guitarists, singers, multi-instrumentalists, and performers (vocals, guitar, violin, keyboards on line out) who want to mix two sources with quick control, without using a bulkier mixing desk. In concert, it simplifies stage changes and secures the sound thanks to the DI out. In studio or home studio, it serves as a compact front-end : preamplification, tonal correction, and headphone monitoring.
Controls, modes, and features: everything you need, in the right place
Each channel features Gain to adjust sensitivity (with clipping indicator), a 2-band EQ (treble and bass), and a volume control to balance your two sources. The EFX section offers 4 programs (reverbs, delay, chorus) with level and Pan controls allowing you to distribute the effect between channels according to your mix.
On the rear, the connectivity is designed for flexibility: balanced XLR DI out for front of house, 2 asymmetrical 6.35mm Jack line outs for driving an amplifier, another preamp, or managing more specific routings. A stereo Aux In allows adding an accompaniment source (track, metronome, playback) with its dedicated level, and the headphone output facilitates discreet monitoring. The 24V phantom power is independently switchable on each channel, convenient if combining a condenser mic and a line source.
Sound Character
The Dual Mix 2 aims for a clean, detailed, and dynamic reproduction, particularly suited to acoustic instruments and vocals. The 2-band EQ allows quick correction of excessive brightness, thickening a somewhat thin capture, or conversely lightening the low end to gain clarity in a live mix. The built-in effects prioritize a "mix-ready" musicality: a reverb to place the voice or instrument in space, a delay to widen without overwhelming, and a subtle chorus to enrich a clean sound.

Questions frequently asked
Does the AER Dual Mix 2 allow connecting an acoustic guitar and a microphone?
Both channels feature combo XLR / 6.35 mm jack inputs, suitable for connecting two sources simultaneously. A 24 V phantom power can be switched separately for each channel for compatible microphones.
What outputs are available for stage and monitoring?
The balanced XLR DI output, with level control, allows connection to a front-of-house system. Two unbalanced 6.35 mm line outputs are dedicated to channels 1 and 2, while a 6.35 mm headphone output is provided for monitoring.
Which effects are built into the Dual Mix 2?
Four programs are available: two reverbs, one delay, and one chorus. The EFX section includes program selection, level control, and pan to distribute the effect between channels.
Does the equalization allow quick correction of an acoustic guitar?
Each channel features a two-band active EQ, with bass ±10 dB at 100 Hz and treble ±12 dB at 10 kHz. A low-cut filter is also included to reduce unwanted low frequencies.
Can a phone or playback device be connected to the AER Dual Mix 2?
A stereo auxiliary input with a 3.5 mm mini-jack allows adding backing tracks, a metronome, or playback, with a dedicated level control.
