A "modern classic" Aston, designed from the start for the modern studio
The Origin is Aston's flagship microphone: a large-diaphragm cardioid designed to deliver high-end capture quality for both home studios and professional studios. This stereo bundle version retains the original model's DNA while extending it to more advanced uses: stereo recording, quick setup, and accessories suited for both vocal and instrument capture.Who is it for and what recordings?
This pack is aimed at discerning home studio users, beatmakers, podcasters, and studios seeking a versatile duo. In stereo, you gain width and realism on acoustic guitar, piano, string quartets, drum overheads, room amps, and ambience. In mono, each Origin remains an excellent primary microphone for spoken or sung vocals, with a natural signature that is mix-ready.Two Origins, more possibilities: stereo, isolation, and cleaner sound capture
Stereo without compromise on coherence
With two matched microphones, you get a more homogeneous response between left and right channels, facilitating XY, ORTF, or AB techniques (depending on your distance and stereo bar). Result: a stable image, credible transients, and more "real" room reverbs.SwiftShield: shock mount + pop filter, going beyond the microphone alone
Each microphone already works efficiently thanks to its integrated pop filter and internal isolation, but the SwiftShield sets add extra mechanical isolation (foot noise, stand vibrations) and more comfortable plosive control for vocal recording. The bundle thus becomes a true "studio" setup for quickly running through sessions.Technical specifications

Questions frequently asked
Is the Aston Microphones Origin Stereo Pack suitable for stereo recording of acoustic guitar?
The two matched microphones facilitate XY, ORTF, or AB setups for acoustic guitar. Their cardioid pattern and frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz also allow capturing piano, overheads, or ambient sounds.
What power supply is required for the Origin microphones?
A 48 V phantom power supply (± 4 V) is required, via XLR connectors.
Does the pack include shock mounts and pop filters?
Two SwiftShield sets are included to provide additional mechanical isolation and plosive control during vocal recordings. Each microphone already has a built-in pop filter and internal isolation. The SwiftShields help reduce vibrations transmitted through the mic stand.
Can the Aston Origin microphones from the stereo pack be used for vocal recording?
Each large-diaphragm microphone can be used solo for singing or spoken vocals. The 80 Hz high-pass filter reduces unwanted low frequencies, while the -10 dB pad adapts the level for louder sources.
What is the maximum sound pressure level these microphones can handle?
The maximum SPL specified is 127 dB SPL at 0.5% total harmonic distortion.
